Drivers seat

Had my 8.5 GTi a good few weeks now, and I am constantly adjusting the drivers seat. I feel like every time I get in I’m further away fro the wheel, so I feel like I’m forever adjusting and it’s not comfortable at all.
Spoke to to dealer today, they can’t help me at all until August. 4 months!!!! But, it was almost like they knew it was an issue.

I’ve since found a bit on FB about people asking the same thing, anyone here at that issue?

Is it the backrest you mean? Where it seems to recline a little bit? Yes, this is a known problem, I’ve seen several people report it. I think I’ve noticed it to some small degree in my car too.

Yeah, I feel like I’m rotating it closer to the wheel every day. I thought for a minute, I just mustn’t have it dialled in right, but obvs now I know it is an issue. Cannot get over it’s such a long wait for them to get it in. Mind blowing

Yep, can confirm my 75 plate GTI driver's seat does exactly the same thing - totally weird

My old MK8 had this exact issue, the dealer replaced the whole back rest part, they reuse the foam and cloth etc from the old seat I believe?! This fixed the issue, I’ve not had any similar trouble with my current 8.5.
