Condesation, a problem?

I have a 2025 GTI, I regularly see condensation inside the front and rear lights and I have to say the moisture inside the windscreen is the worst I’ve had on a car, including very old cars, is this normal for a VW of this age?

A certain amount of condensation inside the lights is normal. It happens on a lot of modern cars with LED lights. The units aren't sealed by design and the LED's themselves don't emit any heat either like the old xenons or halogen bulbs did. Its weather dependant and will clear on its own. I'd only be concerned if there's actual water droplets in there that never seem to go away.

Yeah, I think the inside of the screen is prone to misting up alright and the vents aren't very effective. Make sure you have your climate control on. Set it to AUTO and at 20-22 degrees and it should be fine generally. Then if it does still mist up, give it a direct blast for a few seconds by pressing the windscreen demist button on the panel where the light switches are.

Thanks for the advice, they headlights do always clear up, I did think it might be due to heat and the fact that the lenses are all completely clear.

Yes, same, all pretty normal and I have to annoy my neighbours in the very early mornings at times by running my engine to clear the inside of the screen. A lukewarm jug of water poured on the outside of the screen speeds the process up massively but beware of said water freezing on the ground afterwards.

Lots of standing water and heavy rain in the UK this time of year which means the lights and interior glass do struggle with condensation at times.
