New brake judder above 50mph

Evening,

Recently, I've been experiencing brake judder, quite bad, above 50mph, even from a light application, of brakes.

I recently had to swap out my old discs, not long after buying my car, due to the lip on the fronts. It was a bargaining chip.

Upgraded them to the offerings from AE Motorsports - Powerbrakes options, with their custom grooves added, and Brembo pads.

All has been good so far, but i have had to do a few hardish stops due to badgers in the road, on the dark mornings, and seeing them last minute.com.

Since then, the judder has appeared. Guessing the discs are warped...which is annoying as they're pretty new, but out of warranty now.

i did consider getting them skimmed, but read bad things about this.

Decided to instead buy a standard plain set, from Comline 340mm and see if this fixes the issue.

Unlikely to have warped - despite what the internet says.
Much more likely is that that they either have uneven pad deposits on them (something that repeated hard braking from speed may remedy), or they were not installed flush to the hub (it's important to clean both faces carefully). Both feel like the discs have warped and only come on after a while.

PS just noticed your car is a DSG:  sitting on the brake pedal with hot discs can cause uneven pad deposits.

I am sure you know all this, so not telling you how to suck eggs

Thanks mate, i normally use the auto brake to reduce the hot pad on the disc. I'll get them off and see if theres anything going on, that I've missed. Seems odd they've been on the car for around 7 months, and now they're misbehaving.

How many miles have you done since the new discs?
Both pad deposition and interface with hub being out of true tend to only cause problems 1000-5000 miles later. Don't ask me how I know....
