I am really excited about flying out to pickup the 40th Anniversary GTI on Saturday. Following that, I have a 5-6 hour drive home.
My initial concern was comments I stumbled upon saying that the wireless connectivity was less than ideal, and had frequent dropouts. They strongly recommended using a hard cable.
I then came across this, and similar comments in several places, and it concerns me. I will certainly be in need of NAV, and Sirius/XM radio on the way home.

"Are there problems connecting newer Samsung Phones To 2023 VW GTI's for Android Auto?
Yes, there are problems connecting newer Samsung phones to 2023 VW GTI's for Android Auto. Users have reported issues with Samsung Galaxy S23 phones not connecting to the VW system, even when using different USB ports and cables. Some users have resolved the issue by using an Android Auto wireless receiver. It appears that the problem is not specific to the S23 series but may also affect other newer Samsung phones. Volkswagen has not provided firmware updates for the 2023 GTI S trim, which may contribute to the connectivity issues."

Has this problem ever been resolved? I have a current top model Samsung and am concerned.

Modern android auto uses Bluetooth to negotiate the connection then swaps to WiFi...
