Same as Joe, 12 years in with EPB’s and auto hold. My 2013 GTI PP manual had a few moments when I was getting used to it and it was getting used to me, but was mostly flawless thereafter. Fast forward 12 years and goodness knows how many Golfs later I find these things work just fine now after many years of development. I literally never touch the little button/toggle by the gear nugget. Maybe I get an odd jolt if the system is a bit unsure of intent when manoeuvring on a slope but generally smooth to the point of being nearly imperceptible.
