I’ve had this happen once before but quite a while ago, I had an orange light come up on the dash when I started the car up first thing in the morning and that was for my dynamic cornering lights – turned car off and on again and it cleared, not had it come up again – when this happened I had an email waiting asking me to book it in as a ‘service event’ had been logged with my local dealer.
Yesterday when almost home I had the brake-pad warning come up – strange I thought because at my March service/MoT nothing was said only that the rear pads needed doing (which I got done as they really did need changing), normally the dealer would have been warning me to get the fronts looked at if they were anywhere near doing. Checked them when I got home and they seem fine (this is my second set of pads on a 6 year old car – below average annual mileage).
Again when I looked at my emails I had one from my dealer saying to book my car in as a ‘service event’ had been logged.
Is this normal for a six year old car? My VW Connect expired years ago and I don’t connect my phone to the car.
Has anyone else had this happen?
