I also looked into a retrofit but the part comes back as €4,200 plus VAT. Yikes!

No that was the price a supplier quoted me to order the Akra exhaust by itself. They weren't even sure if they could order it though because I believe VW will only supply it for a car that had it originally, so it may be restricted by VIN or something.
