I thought it was always known that adding the PP forced you to also spec the semi-slicks. Is there a suggestion here that the configurators are misleading and the semi-slicks shouldn't add any extra cost above the PP cost? On the Irish configurator, it adds another €1400 ish, making the total cost of the PP over 7k!

Just come off the phone to the dealers and they had a bulletin come through yesterday saying if you speck the performance pack then they have to buy the tyres at £880

Its definitely always been this way on the Irish configurator.

These configurators are always full of holes. AFAIK, the "Black pack" on the GTI / CS is still something mad like £1500 on the UK configurator whereas its only a couple of hundred in every other market (including Ireland).

Agreed Joe, it was that way on the Irish configurator from launch. I should know, spent a while playing when it when I was flirting with the idea of buying one haha!

To be fair, while not perfect either, the Irish configurator tends to be more reliable than the UK configurator.
Formerly GTI but now gone to the darkR side…

haha yeah!
One possible "glitch" I've seen on the Irish one is that the "Discover media" (Sat nav basically) is down as an optional extra. Surely this can't be right, seeing as Nav is standard on basic Golfs these days as far as I know. I dare not ask a dealer, just incase it becomes costly!!

Greetings from the Emerald Isle, I’m new to the Forum as I’ve recently placed an order here with my local dealership for Moss Green Edition 50, Performance Pack, Area View and Art Velours steering wheel. big change for me as coming from All Space, had a Tayron on order but cancelled when Edition 50 appeared total heart over head as vehicle will be used as a daily with two kids in toe. Previously had numerous GTi.s but parenthood and buggy’s took over, out the other side now.
Im curious to see has anybody been able to establish how limited this run will me as it will effect residuals, I see some countries have stopped taking orders any truth in this, Ireland is still open to orders I believe.
Build Weeks anybody get anything definitive?
Commemorative Plague as discussed earlier, any further info on this?

Welcome, fellow Irishman  That's going to be quite the departure from a Tiguan!!

What part of the country are you in, what dealers do you mind me asking?

From my experience, I don't think it will be limited to any specific number as such in the Irish market. Given the price point, I expect the sales volume here will be low and they'll make them available so long as the factory will build them. My guess is most or all of this calendar year.

The "plaque" is something VW UK have done in the past, there was a huge fuss over it with the Edition 30... 20 years ago, when that car was supposed to be limited, then it wasn't, and then VW UK half-arsedly issued these kinda meaningless plaques (as the car was never really limited, so why bother) to existing owners. I can't see VW Ireland doing it.

Thanks for the info, I think your correct re the numbers in Ireland the price is a big deterrent alright esp when no discounts were offered, indeed the R was a cheaper option as discounts available.
I’m based in Cork City but always deal with Blackwater Motors Fermoy (Jamie O’Callaghan). I have bought numerous cars off him over the last two decades, he’s extremely knowledgeable and professional, he’s also a Vage Enthusiast which definitely helps with knowing the product. I would have no issues in recommending him.

Good to know. Always one of the first challenges, finding a good salesman that actually knows the product they're selling!
