There's definitely a glitch in the VW Configurator.. It clearly states that the current Golf offer, specifically excludes the Edition 50, and yet the configurator deducts £1,000 discount, as a " deposit contribution".

It's not like VW to get that wrong, is it? 🤔🤣

I don't think it's a glitch, it's probably a real offer. If it said £5250 contribution for the Edition 50 then I would very much assume it was an error. However, the fact that's it's a different number, and much lower tells me it probably real. Those numbers are quite far away on the keyboard for a human error.  Also, the exclusion clause points to the 7.9% APR and larger contribution.

I am holding off for now. The cost to change from my TCR which I am still enjoying and which doesn’t seem to loose much money is too much.

There were no discounts on the TCR at the start and that was limited period of sales just the same so think this will be the same.

I am guessing edition 50 runs til end of the year when there will be a small gap before the 2.5 comes in for a year, also limited time to buy.

So, if we get discounts I will probably, if not I may wait and go for a 2.5r. So not worried if they don’t discount the 50.

Out of curiosity, did anyone ever get any contribution (or discount) for a new factory order Golf GTI TCR? The TRC seems quite similar to the Edition 50 in that it's meant to be on sale for 1 year, rather than a production cap. I also wonder when the last TCR UK order was taken, that might help shed some light on if this first allocation being the only allocation message is true or not.

Massive fan of the Belvedere wheels on TCR, even more than the Reifnitz PP option!

I got a decent discount off factory order TCR. From memory it was about £36k but has quite a few options like paint, performance pack, sun roof, Akra

That’s a pretty good discount for a runout limited time production model! Did you order it when the order book opened or much later down the line?
