Any advise/experience with this

Looking at purchasing this aftermarket spoiler
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175204291892?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=f4fsv4x_r_g&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=-1uv-8mhSmS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

After speaking to someone on this forum (apologies can't remember who) I was directed to it, I have contacted the company and have been assured it will be a correct fit. Never fitted anything like this before just after any dos and don't regarding it. I know I've got to tiger seal it down but just after some advise and any pics would be great. Any advise good or bad will be helpful... Cheers all

I'd personally be hesitant to fit that to a new 40k+ car tbh. I've never seen anything like that look anything other than aftermarket. The fit is never great imo.

You could get a genuine Clubsport spoiler if that's the look you're after. Lot more money though unfortunately, but it would look perfect!

I've fitted aftermarket gloss black parts to a previous vehicle, they looked great for several years. However, after some time the UV damage showed (fading and other parts crazing). You wouldn't get this on a genuine part, very unlikely anyway, but aftermarket it can be common. If it's being tiger sealed on, it'll be a right bar steward to get it off too.

I'd either look for genuine on such a new car, or keep it original.

Current - MK8 GTi Clubsport in Moonstone Grey
(Plus Many other non-Golf hot-hatches in-between!)

It’s a shame there’s no OEM mk8 equivalent of the TCR/Golf R ‘performance’ lip spoiler add ons.

Thanks for the advise guys.
I think I may lay off the aftermarket spoiler possibly save a good few more pennies for the genuine one. Just wanted something for it to stand out a little more the lips are good but so many put there I wouldn't even know where to start tbh.
The CS was just out of my price range and the deal I got for the GTi and a few extras and a service plans was too good to miss.

Back to the drawing board.

The standard GTI looks pretty fine as is HBW so no real need for any bodywork embellishments.
All the car needs is a set of wheels that fill the arches better than the standard 18’s and job done.
