Does Amy know what this option brings over the standard suspension?

It is the standard suspension, you can’t have 19” wheels without it selected, the Configurator is just set up weird. I believe it lowers the car slightly by a few millimetres compared to when 18” wheels are ordered, so as to reduce the extra arch gap created when 19” wheels are fitted.

Looking at aftermarket springs, it shows that the lowering rates for Eibach sports for example as follows:

Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs – VW Golf MK8 GTI/GTD

Lowering range on standard suspension models (18″wheels):
25-30mm Front
20mm Rear

Lowering range on sports suspension models (19″wheels):
15-20mm Front
10mm Rear

What this shows is probably a 10mm drop when sports suspension from factory is fitted, or if you’ve 19s from factory the same applies. (Not sure if you can spec sports suspension with 18s).
Prior - MK2 GTi Big Bumper in White
Current - MK8 GTi Clubsport in Moonstone Grey
(Plus Many other non-Golf hot-hatches in-between!)

Seem to remember it's just their bizarre way of saying "standard" after they've tried to persuade you to add DCC to your build on the configurator.

We did talk about it on here a while back iirc.

Never ceases to amaze me how vw UK can make a mess of what is effectively their sales front end. Stunning screw ups for all the time I've been interested in Golfs.
