UK configurator now up.

https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/configurator.html?---=%7B%22configuration-step-navigation-service%22%3A%22%2F%3FconfigStep%3D%257B%2522context%2522%253A%2522mofa-standalone%2522%252C%2522selectedStep%2522%253A%2522carline%2522%257D%22%7D

Just built what would have, Moonstone grey/black, Black Estoril, DCC, Camera, Black Pack and Matrix Lights and HK Sound, £42630

Did you look at what the "Exterior Styling package Black Style with Matrix LED headlights" gives you?

Click the compare button...I'll give you a hint... for £1285 the difference is... "Black exterior mirror housings"

Are they made out of titananium???
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

And DCC is NOT included as standard.... PLUS if you select "Alloy Wheel 19" 'Queenstown'" you HAVE to have DCC on top.... wtf?

Making in £1990 for those wheels... which will buckle at the sight of a pothole.

No thank you VW!

Did not look closely enough, presumed it had some black edition elements you get on Audi, and like the MK 8 Black Edition, but absolutely, on face of it, the only difference is the wing mirrors and 65% tint, which is standard anyway.

Imagine there must be early mistakes in the Config, as that 65% must be 90% tint as upgrade, and there must be more the the black option in styling than mirror caps and additional tint, one to watch to see if changes.

You get darkened front optics with the black pack. Pay attention to that on other youtube videos. And there is definitely a mistake in price for the black pack. Because you get LED Matrix as standard, and Black Pack itself can't cost more than 200-300.

The black pack gives you darkened headlights too. It's still a silly price though! I mean they're the exact same units, just with darker reflectors! I'm not sure if it is a mistake, it's hard to see how it can be justified. Note, its down as 1600 euro on the Irish configurator!

Yes, seems you are forced to select DCC now with any of the 19's options. I think you should spec DCC anyway, it's a must have for me, but for sure, it does make the wheel upgrade "seem" expensive.

Black Pack costs 190 EUR in the Italian configurator for instance

Remember the Mk8 had a £1500 option for NavPro that gave you f all.... and that stayed there for the entire life of the Mk8!

I'm guessing that some idiot has taken the VW price for LED matrix lights and added it to the "black pack" price.... maybe this time they will correct it.... maybe not, maybe they will be forever wondering why nobody bought it!

Not all of the 19's... only the bendy ones.

Its a rock and a hard place on the wheel choice though. I was adamant on my Mk8 that I wasn't having the swastika wheels     and then I was scared that the 19's would be horrible without DCC...

The black pack thing has to be a mistake.

On the German configurator, the base car is quite "basic". The IQ Lights pack is €1215. The "Black pack with IQ Lights" is €1700. If you select one, it prompts you to remove the other.

So it should be closer to the 500 quid mark I think, which is still a bit pricey for what it is. You can get a pair of black mirror caps on Ebay for 40 quid. And I'd be a bit on the fence about losing the red stripe on the front.

I do like the darkened headlights though.

Re: Matrix LED gate

The UK GTI has Matrix LED as standard but lesser UK golfs and those German GTIs don't ahve Matrix LED as standard.

So someone in Milton Keynes will realise the error and adjust it...evidently.

As has already been mentioned the black styling pack gives you:

1) Black Door mirror casings
2) Headlight inserts in black
and
3) Removal of red stripe to make it black (I know you won't believe me so try choosing it with car facing you in the configurator) Also this was confirmed on Youtube walk around of Clubsport

Hope that clarifies things.

@fredgroves  I laughed when I saw what you call the Richmond wheel design.  That is what my mate says. I am non-plussed by them but would prefer difference wheels.

After playing with configurator, I don't need to worry about do I or don't I order as colour and wheels is a problem and I also I mistook the first year VED sum, so I won't have another £1100 to play with after all, so min options pushes it too high. Like so many perhaps a good 7.5 is the way to go.

I do like the new facelift GTI and does seem a very good package
