Got given F reg 8v Gti with mouldy interior having been sat in a damp garage for 18 months....

90 Spec arches, skirt, bumpers and trim.
New windscreen
New rear windscreen (Smashed by a Horse being riden by a chav!!) 
New drivers window (Smashed by a chav twoccer) 
2 New door handles (again, twoc damage... when would they learn it wasn't going anywhere?)
Armour door plates
Full Re-spray
90a Alternator
New water pump
New thermostat
Head Gasket
Rocker Gasket
New Sump
Uprated headlight loom
Re-conditioned Gearbox.
New starter motor
PiperX Induction Kit
Had my interior leathered by MJ  :grin: 
New stainless exhaust system
New radiator fan switch
New foglights.
New tail lights.
New grill (debadged)
Replaced ECU (blown)
Replaced Distributor (knackered)
New leads
New spark plugs
New wiper blades
New front engine mount x 2
New gearbox engine mount.
New throttle cable
New clutch
New clutch cable
....... another knackered ECU....fusebox... wiring...  breaking mk2 8v digi!!!

Bought H reg 8v Gti.
Transferred tail lights.
Transferred induction kit
Transferred leather interior.
.... and for this weekend...
Transfer exhaust system.
Rocker cover gasket.

brought it,
had it for a month,
sent it off for engine work,
waited 5 months for pistons from je,
new wheels,
charger reuilt,
sorted the arches to get wheels on,
lowered it more,
put a carbon bonnet on,
took it off, 
put it back on,
had it mapped,
oh and put faw too much fuel in it

next is bigger injectors and winter wheels.

after waiting an hour and 40 mins for the rac to pick me up, stood at the side of the road  with the car stopped in a layby wearing nothing mroe than a t-shirt, black shrug and a fleece banket i swore at my car andtold it i didn't like it any  more, and thats after a new rotor arm n  dizzie cap, 2 new doors and a set of big bumpers, and a full tank of petrol! my car is no longer working  and i lovevd my car!!!

^^ sorry to hear that han, if it makes you feel any better i just ragged around in my car....... went through some twisty's....blatted round some roundabouts......wound windows down and blasted through some tunnels....

i love my car too... need to treat her to a new accelerator cable apparenttly.. and i must get ass into gear n get a webber

mine was pretty good when i got it. hasn't needed a lot.

stuff done:

oil pump
oil + oil filter change, about twice
coolant change + new expansion tank
timing
tracking

stuff to be done asap:

cambelt
clutch (possibly)
plugs
leads
dizzy cap + rotor arm
alternator belt (adjustment, maybe replacment if it can't be sorted)

stuff in the future:

valve stem seals
head gasket

mods to come:

split rims of some sort
bodywork tidying up (rust removing etc) or perhaps a blow over respray
leather seats. not sure what out of yet
