I'm interested from the perspective of whether it will push 8 values down .
Not too much more I hope, mine has already shed £15k in five months ![shocked ](https://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/Smileys/modern/shocked.gif.pagespeed.ce.qWyOSHp_pK.gif)
Supply of 8.5’s will probably be slow at first which will hopefully firm up values. There are hundreds of unregistered mk8’s around at the moment so used values will be dreadful. Unless values shore up not too many people will be able to afford to upgrade.
I am sure prices for the MK8 R will firm up again. It’s always the same when there’s a glut of new cars with discounts, but they will sell, the MK8.5 R will arrive with the iPad Pro attached to the dash and the 333PS engine from the 20years but it will be close to £50K with 19s, so our cars will be more desirable. The interior of the 8.5 is no different in terms of quality based on Volkwizard’s video, and I personally prefer the more integrated look of the MK8, so it’s a significant premium to pay for illuminated heater controls!
I remember residuals for the ED40 were terrible after 6 months of ownership, as there were so many unsold examples and look where they are now! I am still resisting the urge to sell mine 😊
