Yeah, not done too badly I guess. Calling a couple of local DC refurb places today for some quotes for repairs. Will probably get x4 done so the front near side doesn’t stand out to much.

I would hazard a guess that a top quality 18” diamond cut refurb would cost in the region of £125 plus VAT these days.

Lepsons (www.lepsons.com) used to display refurb prices on their website and from memory, their price for an 18” diamond cut refurb was £100 pus VAT plus an additional charge to remove and refit the tyre. However, that would’ve been around 3 years ago, and the impact of inflation and higher energy costs will no doubt have pushed that price up somewhat.

Before getting them all done, consider that diamond cutting can only be done a very limited number of times. If you get them all done and scrape another, you'll be getting very close to them being unable to be done again.

Sorry to hear by the way :sad:

I agree with Watts. Only get a DC refurb when abs necessary and live with any minor abrasions. Do not refurb “good enough” DC wheels.
I have had 2 done and discovered the restorers had difficulty matching the very slight dishing profile on the face of my Parkers.
This wasn’t a problem on the Mk7 Austins which had a flat polished face. Has anyone else experienced this?

Understand on the skimming process, but this is the first time and if they last another 4+ years I’m ok with that.

I’m a bit OCD with cars (probably got too much time on my hands), ‘good enough’ for me is flawless, I’d keep seeing the scrapes when I wash it and that would really pee me off.?

I’m booked in tomorrow, pick up Weds AM. P6GTD - I’ll mention the dishing to the guys doing the job and see what they say but thanks for the heads up.

@SJW :grin:

@AdamT7 I'm sure they will come back looking great.

2 of the Milton Keynes I got when I bought it from the dealer were curbed, dealer offered to do them but I knew they were going to be swapped out and become winter wheels so I haggled.  I sent 2 to Lepsoms and they have just come back and
 came out really good I think.  I thought they would skim and take so much off they wouldn't match but I can't really tell the difference, not sure how they do it at Lepsoms but I would say its worth it.
