No voice directions on sat nav

Been using sat nav whilst on holiday and it’s been fine. Today got to first destination and directions were given verbally along with the map. Got out of car had a walk around the town where we were directed to, all ok. Got in the car and put next destination , map came up fine, but no voice directions, just a bong at each new turn. Hadn’t touched any of the settings. Any ideas?

Have you turned the volume down by mistake? The volume control on steering wheel does sat nav voice control only while active. The rest of the time it's on radio/media. So if a voice command is being spoken and you roll the volume right down it can be off completely.

Thanks for the reply. Funnily enough, left the car parked up for a couple of hours, when I got back, looked on the sat nav screen, and the last destination was a combination of numbers, not a place. Deleted that, and suddenly working again. Maybe she just neede a rest, very strange

Mine has done it a few times.


Just more sw gremlins.

You can fix it with an infotainment reboot (hold down the power button until you get the boot up screen).

Unlike most of the other faults which need a switch off, lock the car and wait fifteen minutes before it's totally shut down...
