Are you sure there isn't anything wrong with the exhaust? Mine doesn't drone at all?

Perhaps drone was the wrong word.  I just meant the pseudo ‘sports noise’ VW seem to like pounding our ears with.  Doesn’t matter if I’m in sports or eco mode, it just annoys me.  OBDEleven ordered for delivery tomorrow 👍

Don't take this the wrong way but why by a 'sporty car' then? Surely that's an expected biproduct of a 'sporty car', the noise?

I’m perfectly happy with the sporty car. And I will be quite happy with a natural sounding sporty exhaust once the soundaktor is muted.  I don’t need fake pumped in noise.

Thanks for the offer, however I’m near Glasgow. I’ll get use from the one I’ve ordered.  My son also has a 7.5 Golf R, so he’ll get use from it as well.
