Squeaky Clubsport wing
« on: 19 July 2023, 18:33 »
Has anybody had experience of a squeaky rear wing on a Clubsport?

Had my car 1000 miles now and just noticed that the rear wing randomly squeaks on the right hand side when opening and closing the boot.. and most annoyingly when going over small bumps in the road.

Anyone else experienced this and if so, what was your remedy?
 Thanks

Yes it works now.

That’s properly squeaky!
Mine feels rock solid, I did try and wobble it this morning whilst washing the car.

Thank you, yes it works now. Certainly the same squeak! Mine may be slightly quieter but I’ve only had the car a few weeks. It certainly ‘feels’ solid and I’m not concerned about it being incorrectly, it just appears to be the rubber drying out and rubbing on some glass or plastic

I have had an intermittent unidentified squeak in the same place that I can hear inside the car…. this may have just solved it.

What I should add is that mine only does it in certain weathers, most typically in an evening when it has been parked in the sun all day in one particular place. No such worries in the rain or early morning/night or cloudy cool days

If it’s a dry rubber on glass / paint issue, maybe try some Krytox or Gummi Pflege, works on door seals etc.

I’ve bought some Gummi Pflege, I’m going to monitor and then apply when we get a dry day!

Yes that’s very similar to me, it sounds as if something is squeaking on the left hand side of the boot (a bag strap or something on my work bag was the original thought) but when you open or close the boot it becomes apparent
