Has anyone changed and fitted the reflectors for projectors like these on Aliexpress? I see they do with and without cables if you dont have powered lights which I dont

No, but I already want some!
Not sure how you get power to them, if you don't already have power though?

Yeah put them in years ago, think it only took about 10 minutes a door, then another few minutes on obdeleven

Think you’ll find with power cord is for cars that have reflectors, and without are ones that have lights in the doors already (don’t think any golf’s have them as lights though, some aertons do tho)

TCRs have them as lights.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

What about swapping to Mk 7.5 mirrors that have the puddle lights?

If you mean how to change, I’m not sure but I assume they are similar fittings and there is power available.
If you mean lights on a 7.5, they are LEDS discreetly on the mirror unit underside (not a brilliant photo).

Better image, but not sure if this is what you are trying to achieve or whether Mk 7’s already have these mirror lights or if the cost of change makes it a nonsense?

Yeah, feck that...
If I remember it wasn’t that hard, I think the hardest bit was unplugging the alarm LED because it was quite fiddly
