The time has come to move onto a new era after 12 years with this great car. Originally a 16V GTI “One in 10 million” edition, converted by a previous owner to a 2.8 VR6 from a MK3 Golf and later enhanced with the below modifications by myself. As you can see, no expense was spared during my build with a focus on OE parts/quality.
The car drives and handles so well with the LSD and has buckets of low-down torque. It runs as it would have in the Mk5 Golf and puts a massive smile on your face.

- 3.2L R32 engine and ancillaries from a 2006 Mk5 Golf – 55,000miles with proof of mileage, fully refurbished with powdercoated
engine brackets and ancillaries and professionally painted inlet manifold, engine covers etc. All engine and gearbox bolts etc.
have been zinc plated.
- New OEM powertrain mounts purchased from VW.
- Running original Mk5 Golf ECU completed by Stealth Racing and mapped to approximately 280bhp together with original MK5
by-wire accelerator pedal for a refined torque delivery.
- Fully refurbished (powdercoated), subframe, crossmembers, wishbones and power-steering rack with H&R anti-roll bar and
new OEM bushes all round
- Fully refurbished braking system utilising G60 front setup and VR6 rear calipers. Calipers rebuilt by Bigg Red brake specialists.
Goodridge braided brake lines and brand new VW Steel lines fitted to body and engine bay with new fixings. New OEM brake
master cylinder and reservoir with refurbished servo.
- KW V1 adjustable coilovers
- 15” BBS RFs (super "uncommon" in this size) powdercoated centres and barrels with Stainless Steel dishes and bolts.
- New clutch master cylinder and servo fitted alongside new Sachs clutch kit and brand new OEM SMF.
- Fully rebuilt 02A transmission, with new Wavetrac LSD installed. Casing aquablasted, powdercoated and all fixings zinc plated.
- New OEM CV joints and powdercoated driveshafts with new wheel bearings all around.
- New OEM powersteering pump, lines and reservoir, costly purchases from VW classic parts.
- NOS OEM windscreen washer jet system and reservoir.
- Overhauled cooling system with new Samco hose kit with new OEM expansion tank and thermostat etc. New OEM Hella VR6
radiator and 2 x SPAL cooling fans.
- New OEM oil cooler and filter housing.
- Powdercoated Rallye slam panel with new OEM lower (and upper) bonnet catches. New OEM Rallye grille colour coded with
perfect condition Rallye headlights. Brand new boxed OEM quad lamp 5 slat grille with red trim can be included as an extra.
- New Trackslag 2-box exhaust system with Powerflex exhaust mounts and new Dubpower 6-branch manifold and decat.
- New OEM windscreen and rear screen purchased with new window seals all around.
- New OEM boot seal and door seals alongside various other body related purchases from VW classic parts (New rear OEM
chrome trim bumper etc.)
- Mk2 Golf original Recaro seats fully refurbished with 4 x new side bolsters. Finished in grey tweed with red Recaro embossing,
all completed by the legendary Bernard Newbury.
- New Momo Monte Carlo 350mm steering wheel purchased from Germany.
- NOS Kamei bonnet scoop.
- Silent coat sound deadening fitted throughout vehicle cabin/body.
