Running rich and Octane booster
« on: 28 February 2023, 20:39 »
I have Revo stage2 software and the engine management light came on saying running rich. The O2 sensors were replaced and now running fine. My question is did the Octane booster have anything to do with the fault and will the map compensate for any increase in Octane rating? the car has done 112000m.

In short no.

It's just the O2 sensors wore out and as it didn't get oxygen data it added more fuel as a default mode. If the software is reading / looking for say 99 octane, if you add an octane booster and it took you to 102 octane your car software won't do anything without a variable fuel sensor so it will continue to run it as if you were using 99 octane.
