I've had none of the faults you guys are experiencing, but with the mileage I pile onto mine (42k since July last year) I'm guessing a few will rear their head.

I had two things go wrong within a month of getting the car - Had a brand new drivers seat fitted after it kept clonking going round bends at speed (no weight jokes please, I'm a sensitive type!!)

The other was a new set of carpets, after the original set were ruined by a cinked air conditioning drain tube leaking fluid INTO the car!

That said, my driver and passenger windows now drop to different levels, and the drivers one has become a bit noisy, so I think I'll be seeing my dealers friendly face before November is out!

yeah that sounds like the window regulator on its way out!, this is my 1st winter with me mk4 and im sh!tting it about opening windows if theres been a bit of ice! dont wanna snap me regulators. there is a metal clips set now available to replace the plastic ones which snap ( check uk-mk4s website) this happened is u.s and vw recalled 800,000 cars and replaced plastic clips withmetal ones, vw uk say there isnt enough of a problem to recall all mk4s! pants i say, i got stung ?130 i think when mine went, yet the part was on ?63! some people have got new metal clip sets from vw so they may be available now, about 330  and well worth it, totally ruined my day when my window fell into my door!
