You can make it remember Lane assist setting between restarts with Obd11... Turn it off once and be done with it.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

Aye I've seen you can do that with OBD11 and I am tempted to buy one but not sure there is much else I would do with one tbh.
Plus can VW wangle their way out any warranty claims if they can see you have done modifications ?

I finally decided to buy an OBD11 and have set the lane assist to remember the last setting.
It was driving me nuts having to switch it off every time as I find it too aggressive on normal roads and especially having to avoid the numerous potholes on the roads I drive to work.

Although not a GTI, she sure does look good, especially the seats. Enjoy
