The DSG clutches will easily handle a map only the manual boxes need a clutch upgrade.

Find a decent VW specialist to look at it as dealers are just plug in and read codes, if there are no codes there is nothing wrong. They are mostly fitters not mechanics.

I'll say it again.... it sounds like clutch slip.

Which will more than likely be caused by the map.

Two possible fixes - take the map off or get an uprated clutch.

I'd go with plan A, but if you fancy spending a lot of money, plan B will fix it too.

100% this.

If you want greater performance from the car, there are proven Stage 1 maps that won't require hardware upgrades. Only issue is that if the map has the performance characteristics that make you love the car.

Morning, it was the dsg oil change, funny thing is i have all the previous service history and all previous owner details, but as much as i insisted all i wanted to know was what had the car been mapped up to, eco-tune would not under any circumstances divulge the info, infact they even said the car hadn't been to them and that was before i gave the registration.I spoke to the area gdpr manager who i know well and he said as much as i wasn't asking about the prior owner just the info on the car, they were in there rights to do so. So guess i need to get to a local tuning place to see what the story is and get the car plugged in to see if that gives any tips on whats going on.All i know about the prior owner was he was very much into showing cars off and excellent performance so i wouldnt imagine it has a crap map whilst he had it, but may take it off to see how the car runs without it....????????????

There are few things I am certain of in life and when it comes to selling cars, I can say with absolutely certainty that people always lie. Project cars always strike fear unless supported by the work having been undertaken by a reputable specialist where you have an audit trail.

I wouldn't waste my time with Ecotune or whatever was left on it. I'd get the car baselined to stock and if you're not happy with performance, use a reputable VAG specialist to build the performance profile that you want. To proceed any other way is like building on sand because the map is fundamental and if you have problems, you'll be forever chasing your tail trying to isolate them and never have absolute certainty as to other changes you make.

Wise words above. DSG clutches are more robust than manual - if treated correctly.
If a well known local ‘performance specialist’ has been dabbling getting it back to a baseline is the only way for peace of mind.

I love the car to bits, and love the heavy right foot at the right times, but mostly im just like miss daisy going to and from work.
I'm in the trade also so my car has been a interesting topic of intrigue and everyone wanting to drive it. Spoke to local tuning guy who advised me to pop by and have a chat, then he can tell me whats on the car map wise and i can show him the video and take it from there i guess and see what my options are.Im not looking to rag the car but i want to enjoy it and knowing the power is there if i feel like showing off when a young un pulls up in his fiesta egging me on..Thanks for the advise so far, really aprreciate it.
