Brake Pedal Clunk
« on: 20 November 2022, 17:50 »
Hi,

Has anybody experienced a knock/clunk from the brake pedal at the top of its travel (coming off the brake)?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes I have this on my Clubsport. Mine also does it when pressing the brake at the top of its travel as well as when coming off it. It doesn't always happen and hasn't bothered me too much as I have more annoying creaks and rattles coming from various parts of the plastic dash/trim. Will you be having a garage look into the brake pedal issue? If you do please post any useful info as mine is still under warranty and if there's a fix I'd get it done. However, they might just say it's normal for it to do that.

Thanks

Several rattles in the cabin on mine. Given up trying to locate them

Rattles wise I have only one but its right near my ear - somewhere near where the seatbelt anchors to the car side pillar just behind the driver I believe. It's only subtle but enough to bug me

Yeah, the longer I have my car (currently 1.5yrs) the less these little rattles etc seem to bother me. However, if I can work out exactly where they are coming from I will get them looked at when in for next service. I'll start a new thread on this as there are some obvious ones that other people may have had and hence there might now be a TPI for it e.g. rattling from the A-pillar speaker on both sides which can be stopped by pressing it.

Mine seems to do this on my 8.5 from time to time. A bit annoying and seems to be worse when auto hold is on. Did anyone raise this with the dealer.

I’ve had an occasional clunk after the parking brake auto applies if I turn off the engine without applying the handbrake, only a few times but I wonder if it’s related. No idea what causes it but doesn’t sound ‘right’ if that makes sense.
