Infotainment screen brightness
« on: 18 October 2022, 17:57 »
Hi all, is it possible to turn the brightness down on the infotainment screen on my car? I find it distracting at night.

It is a 2016 PP with dynaudio if that makes any difference.

Failing that, has anyone found a dark mask/screen which fits over the top to reduce the brightness?

The handbook doesn't really help unfortunately.

Many Thanks.

Hi, on mine, turn infotainment system on, then its Menu/Settings/Screen to adjust the brightness - I’ve never bothered changing the factory setting though.
The screen also goes into dark mode at night when the auto lights flick on, but I think that’s just the Sat Nav.
Good luck👍

Thanks mate, I will take a look tomorrow.

It is very bright especially when displaying white items like radio station logos.

Can you also make the screen go to sleep completely with the radio/music on?

Not sure on the last question - there is a ‘Screen Off’ option but not sure if that turns just the Screen off or the whole Infotainment system? You’ve made me curious now so I’ll try it later.
TBH, I just leave mine displaying the bar, kw power and oil temp gauges unless it’s a rare occurrence of Sat Nav use or changing a radio channel.

Edit - sorry, just noticed yours is a slightly earlier version so stuff may have changed, but I guess it’s worthwhile having a play around in the settings.

Well i have managed to find the screen settings, it was set on maximum brightness, so I set it to the darkest setting and now is all good.

I will have a look later to see if I can find the driving data display but I haven't found it yet and have had the car 6 months...

Screen off with the radio etc on would be a good option if that is there.

Press the "car" button multiple times until it cycles through to the display you want :) Then you can drag the dials up and down to select what you want to see

Top tip - Turn profiles on for your car and then set up a daytime version with brighter dials and then a night time with the darkest lighting.

No more faffing around with settings just a 2 second switch of the steering wheel button when you turn it on
