Thanks SRGTD - good spot. I don’t know which is the closest colour to Moonstone, matt grey or grey metallic?

Thanks for that Guzzle. I think the silver brightens things up.

I have now decided on Borbet Y but not the colour. The dealers I have been to did not have any in stock.  I am still looking for a gunmetal / titanium coloured rim on a Moonstone car. Can anyone help with a photo? Thanks.

I have placed the order for Borbet Y, 8 x 18, et44, CB57.1, 5 x112 in matt titanium, 10.6kg. As per SRGTD’s suggestion here is how they look on the Borbet configurator in the closest colour to Moonstone, I can see. I did consider silver but in the end chose titanium. I also have black mirror caps and Osram tinted DMI indicators ready to complete the look🤞

They look good and IMHO have an OEM style about them. Borbet Y alloys seem to be a popular choice on late model Golfs and Polos.

Be sure to post up some pictures when you’ve got them on your car.

Borbet do make some of the OEM alloys fitted by VW which is why they may have that look. You can currently specify Borbet Y wheels on the new Taigo.

Tyres (225 x 18x 40 Michelin Cross Climate+) mounted on Borbet Y titanium, (18x8, 44 ET), rims. Now for ceramic coating with Gtechniq C5 wheel armour before fitting to the car, mid November.  Sorry for the thumb over the lens so I added the second photo.

I spent a few hours on my wheels, washing, cleaning them down and wiping with panel wipe before applying Gtechniq C5 wheel armour to the barrels and faces. Here’s the result although I am not sure there is any noticeable difference. I’ll apply tyre dressing before they go on.

Visually they may not look much different as they’re a matt finish, but they’re well protected now against the elements
