I have the same rattle from the back seat on mine too, It stopped for a while when I sprayed the catch with white grease but it comes back. I will try the insulation tape trick. ;)

Me too, I wrapped some anti-rattle tape around it, been fine since. The only rattle I have at the moment is from the parcel shelf. It rattles on the stops over harsh bumps. Put anti-rattle tape there too and it stops for a while then back it comes again...

We previously discussed the new Type R on here, a friend has one on order from the first announcement, it is due at some point in Q1 2023, UK supply is apparently very limited, so he has been told.
One thing I am curious of is the gearbox, do you think you will stick with a manual Civic after the Dsg in the Golf?

As cars seem to be holding their price fairly well and a new Civic Tyoe R is likely to be in demand if you can get one, when I am considering a change, in the past I have run the new car alongside the existing car for a few months. Only on one occasion have I kept the old car and only once have I regretted keeping the new one, even though financially it flipped well!

Funny I have the same rattle, I had tesa tape wrapped around mine. Must be the seat locks need replaced, mine periodically returns I used to think it was the sunroof.

Wish I had known about this sooner as spent ages trying to track it down.

Took it to the dealer who fixed it. Only noticed last week when going on holiday and had to put the seats down what they had done to fix it! Was hoping for something more substantial to be honest but driving without a rattle is a godsend!

This is my first auto and have enjoyed it a lot especially in heavy stop start traffic. Have had the type r manual box before and it’s really good so think I would be fine moving back.

At the moment there are occasions where I miss the manual. Expect it would just be a reversal of things if I did move.

TCR is now a couple of weeks for being 3 years old.

Any thoughts?

Had a similar debate but there isn't really anything else out there. I think you're unlucky to have suffered the problems you've had. I haven't had any issues with our TCR but the CSS has suffered a bonnet release failure after what I'd estimate to be less than 100 uses and all the internals for the fuel filler cap were replaced.

The only car that might be worth considering is an A35 but I'd want to change the seats to the AMG Performance buckets and then it doesn't quite make economic sense. I couldn't abide the looks of the A45s with the wobbly stick on aero parts.

Personally, I'd keep the car.
