I was under the impression that all uk spec GTI’s had 3 zone climate, although the ones I’ve seen have flat bars as the hot and cold colours (I’ve no idea if they are oldskool or touch buttons though),, both yours and mine have upturned touch sensative red and blue bars, maybe it’s a slight change on later models, or perhaps yours is an anomaly?! But it does look like the extended winter pack panel but with the seat icons missing! Here’s some pics of the panel in mine.
