Decided to upgrade
« on: 10 June 2022, 15:35 »
Hi all you gti heads

I’ve owned a good few different model gti,s over the years. I’ve currently own a mk 7 , which I have had from new. I have now ordered a mk 8 , but the build time is arox 12 months.
I have got to say that I love my mk7 and I’m hearing mixed views on the mk8. Anyone already drive a mk8 on here? Feed back would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Welcome Darren
I’ve had a mk8 for 18 months now and (touch wood) it’s been fine. A few glitches but no horror stories here as yet. I’ve very seldom kept a car this long without at least considering its replacement so it must be doing something right!
I don’t use some of the features that people do find problematic but the car in general has been as I’d expect from a VW.

I’d advise putting up a thread in the mk8 section asking for other people’s experiences as they’re quite varied.
