I'm upgrading - any advice on values?
« on: 18 October 2005, 17:54 »
Hi everyone.

I've had a thoroughly enjoyable year with my 8v and need more so I'm going for a 16v. Anyway obviously I'm getting rid of the 8v so any advice on value? It's J Reg 120,000 on the clock, pretty spotless bodywork, a few normal scratches as you'd expect but nothing noticable. I've never had a probelm with it atall, starts first time everytime, drives perfectly, and has full VW service history, 6 months tax and 6 months MOT. I'm also putting 4 new tyres on it. Its a totally original big bumper model.

I paid £1,100 for her just under a year ago and was hoping I'd be able to get £1000 for her now. Does this sound realistic?

Cheers people

If you sell to an enthusiast, you might get that for it. Common folk won't pay that for it though...

You might get 1.5k especially if it had 1 years mot? why not get it tested? I assume it is a 3 door?

you'd get a 1000 for it all day long. stick it in for 1500 and then say the least you'll take is 1250.

what colour is it?

cheers for the advice. I reckon I'll get it up for £1350 and see what happens; don't want to put people off on the price but it'd be nice to get a bit more for it too!

easily sellable then, if it was white or even red it might have been harder to sell but the Atlas Grey will sell easy
