Digital dash

My mileometer is playing up as the service intervals no longer work. I can get it replaced for a nominal fee, and with a proper certificate for the mileage before and after, but just wanted to know peoples opinions on whether it is likely to put people off when i come to sell the car. Alternatively would it be worth getting it done and then getting a mileage correction done to put it back to the original mileage?  ???

dangerous game milage correction!, if you are considering getting it done i would seriously consider taking to a vw garage, i know there expensive but youve got the authenticity your gonna need to prove the mileage in future!, a reciept from any old back street garage is gonna not look good to prospective buyers!, even if you get it corrected yeah it might all tally but dont get stung by bloody watchdog or something doing a trap to catch out these milage fiddlers!, seek help from vw if ya want it done coasha!

Cheers for that. Dealer cant correct the mileage as dont have the tools/kit. Mileage correction is not illegal as long as you dont sell a car where the mileage has been adjusted and is known to be incorrect, i.e. if the car had 100k and you correct it to 50k. To be honest I think I will get it done and leave it, but just keep the certificate to say the job was done by a dealer. Safest bet I reckon and cheapest as correction can be around ?100.
