Brescia’s look great, only the ridiculous weight put me off

Plus they sit too far into the arches

They’re OK if you like bling, but diamond cut alloys aren’t for me; I’m not a fan of the white worm corrosion look that many diamond cut alloys succumb to when 2-3 years old (sometimes sooner) if they’re on a car that’s used as a daily driver. Winter road conditions and diamond cut alloys isn’t a good combination IMHO.

It’s good we don’t all like the same things though .

Have you had them from new, have they ever been refurbished?

Why not try £1200? You see some tat sold on eBay for £600 - 800+ with not the best tyres, so a good advert with detailed photos for a set of very desirable genuine VW wheels ought to bring in a decent but fair price.

A set of new tyres and you’re looking at £500+ so £700 for a mint set of VW 19’s with bags and centres surely isn’t too unreasonable.

Prices are always all over the place and sometimes single wheels sell better than sets.  I would say the absolute minimun value would be £1,000.  Are you prepared to ship them because it depends whether anyone is looking in your area?

Apologies for the thread resurrection, especially for a first post!

Recently picked up a 23 plate Clubsport, unfortunately the car is fitted with standard Richmond alloys which I want to change, as per this thread.

Not sure whether to stick with 18” or go 19”, I’d like to keep close to OEM spec and don’t want to change the feel of the car.

I quite like dark spoked style like Pretoria and Scottsdale Clubsport wheels and ideally I’d like to stick to OEM VW wheels.
Looking through classified ads on Facebook, eBay etc. and struggling to find anything less than £2k that isn’t damaged, repaired, scuffed etc.

Looking at the copy/replica wheel sites and CM Wheels have 19” Scottsdale replicas in satin black at quite a decent price, however the size is 19 x 8 x ET42

Most of the other replica VW wheels are ET45, I understand the originals are ET50.

Is offset of ET42 going to push the wheel too far out and will it change the feel of the car?

Welcome Bizarro

I put a set of CM Wheels replicas on my mk8 Clubsport back in January 2021.
They too were listed as ET42 on the website but when I queried it with CM they were actually ET45.
Personally I’d have preferred ET42 to fill the arches out but the 45’s sat pretty well.
I ran those wheels on my Clubsport for three years and they lasted ok despite the best efforts of some huge potholes.
If buying from CM ask them for club discount which normally means free delivery.

One thing I have noted is it’s become much harder to source replica VW centre cap stickers that fit correctly over the blanks the wheels come with. I guess VW must’ve sued too many people for copyright breaches(?)

Thanks, I was wondering if the ET42 was wrong as they have the same wheels in a different colour listed as ET45, also they have them weighing 30kg which seems ridiculously heavy.

Were the wheels you fitted 18” or 19”, what size tyres did you fit?
