Considering Selling
« on: 31 January 2021, 00:32 »
I've had the advert saved in my documents for the last 3 months but can't bring myself to post it.

Any advice?

Sounds like you don’t really want to sell.

Nearly every car I've ever sold I've sort of regretted. I look after my cars and don't sell them because there is anything wrong with them, but just because I get bored with them, usually after a year or so......

Having said that, the missus drives the Golf and says I am not allowed to ever change it......

We've had it 18 months now, so looks like it might be around a bit longer....!!??

But if you have itchy feet or lifestyle issues dictate a change then so be it  ( a 3 door wouldn't suit our family circs...)

But the performance of the GTi spoils you, it will be hard ( ie expensive!) to replace....!
2019 Golf GTI 245 Performance, 2020 Skoda Karoq Sportline 2.0 TDI
Sadly sold, Octavia VRS245 Estate, Audi A3 1.5TFSI S Line Black Edition, Polo GTi 1.8, Audi TT Roadster, Golf Mk7 GTD etc.
Daughter has 2019 Polo 2.0GTi DSG. We love VAG !

I'm the same. The reason for possibly selling up is to help fund a future potential house build. The GTI was my dream car but another dream is to build an off grid/ eco house

The sale of the GTi will be a good chunk of money to invest/bank for the future.

Question is, would you replace it with something else? Ie do you need that car or do you have more cars already?

If you are going to replace it, would the change over liberate much cash?

I usually swap cars every few years but I can't see myself selling the GTI for a long time.

I was a bit 'what's all the fuss about?' when I first got it, but since then it's just grown on me so much, I can't part with it.

I've got myself a little £500 runabout in anticipation of selling the Golf but it still doesn't make it easy.
