Change Digital Service history after the fact?
« on: 21 January 2021, 10:49 »
Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew if you could change the digital service history after the fact? As the main dealer recorded my mileage at 35,000 miles instead of 15,000, at the last service and they didn't give me a print out at the time for me to question it.

Went to a different dealer this time, and they gave me a full service history and saw the old garage recorded it at 35,000.

Good luck, the service I had done last October still isn't on VW's system despite them promising to fix it. Hopefully you have a better dealership than I do.

Hopefully, it's quite a minor issue really but when you pay for a professional you expect it to be carried out correctly.

I’ve had 3 dealer services not show up on the system, when I equired they told me it “didn’t matter” I wasn’t happy, and still not put on

All the more reason to keep and file all invoices linked to services and work carried out in case you need to make a claim.

The first service on my car was carried out before I bought it but I asked for a print out to prove it had been done (the printout was very basic), it still isn't showing on the electronic service record!

A good idea but in practice I'd still like the back up of a traditional paper book.

Could you not just buy a VW service book from eBay for around £6/£7 pound and mark it up yourself and keep all relevant receipts with each of the pages..

you don't always get paperwork when you get a service.

And get the dealer to stamp the book with the dealership stamp at each service.

I ha an inkling this would happen, which is why when I got mine in 2017 I asked for a service book. Got the full package, user manual etc but it was for a MK7 not a MK7.5.
It'll probably get better in time !!!!!!!!!!
