Does anyone know what does winter pack give you over and above standard spec on the 7.5 and how much extra was it as an option when new?

Mk7.5 performance Golfs in the UK had the winter pack included as standard.

Heated headlight washers and heated seats.

So glad mine's got the winter pack this time of year, heated seats are never off!

It's heated washer jets for the windscreen, non-heated washers for the headlights, a low washer fluid warning light, heated seats.

'Winter pack' was standard on all 7.5 GTD/GTI/GTE/R variants in the UK.

Yes but not part of the winter pack

Yup "Climate Windscreen". Circa £300.

Thank you both. Hunting for a 7.0 but on a tight budget any options will be a bonus or I could buy a mark one focus for that heated screen

I would never do without a heated front screen and the one in the Golf is very quick to clear.
