Just waved goodbye, 6 months to the day since I got it. A brilliant car I couldn’t fault, and would not normally change after such a short period of time. Lost £2400 in 6 months, so on par with a lease/PCP payment but over a shorter time. Just fancied something a bit bigger and got a very good deal on a new A5 Avant.

It’s actually gone to RevComps, who will probably have it up this week. I’ll buy a couple of tickets for a laugh

Did RevComps bid for the car via a particular website?
It’d be a result to win it back!

No, I just posted in a Facebook group that it would be going in a few weeks. He messaged me and said he would be interested and would pay the same as WBAC. Paid by bank transfer there and then, was all done in about half a hour.
Definitely be buying a few tickets, wouldn’t even have to change the name on the V5C!

WBAC were 2k higher than Audi we’re offering for PX, and 1k higher than VW would have bought back at trade price. I did pop details into Motorway a while back but didn’t get around to following it up. I’m quite happy with having cost me £400 a month over such a short period of time. Probably could have got a bit more on a private sale but the timings worked perfectly for me

So RevComps are selling 2,000 tickets for £25 each.  That's £50k they're taking and offering your car plus £1k.

There's good money in gambling; but not for the punters!!!

It depends. When I just checked they had only sold 163 tickets. For some cars they will sell all the tickets, for others they may only sell half. It's a numbers game. However, as you say, the ticket seller/bookie usually wins in the long run.

Good point.  I thought they might pull the draw and refund, which is relatively easy with electronic payments, if they didn't sell out.

However I see that they do the draw regardless, so yes it's a game of averages, where they win more than they lose.

Assuming of course that they don't put all of the tickets into the draw, sold or unsold...

Which of course stacks the odds...

None of these draws are particularly transparent in their details...
