Fitted some new wheels.

Original VW Scottsdale alloys, totally change the look of the car, to how a Clubsport should look in my opinion 😎

Definitely better than the factory Richmond alloys IMHO.

The red pinstripe around the rim might not appeal to everyone, but I quite like it. The only real downsides of the Scottsdale alloys compared to the Richmonds is they’ll take longer to clean because of the multispoke design, and being 19”, tyres will be more costly but that’s a small price to pay IMHO. The big plus for me would be the Scottsdales aren’t diamond cut, so no risk of white worm corrosion .

Not diamond cut, but the black bits are still very delicate on all these wheels, they scratch very easily, even by normal careful cleaning! And the tight spokes will make cleaning a bit of a chore. I think you'd be in bother if you ever have the misfortune to need a refurb too, as the red pinstripe could be difficult to get right in a refurb.

Still - a massive improvement on those Richmonds.

Thanks all for the positive comments, I’m really pleased with them.

Agree, they probably won’t be the easiest wheels to keep clean, I plan to keep the car for a couple of years so small price to pay to not see the Richmonds every time I walk up to the car!

+ when I do change the car I’ll more than likely trade it in, I can put the original wheels back on, sell the Scottsdales and hopefully get a large percentage of what I’ve paid for them back.

Can’t lose, that’s what I’ve told the wife anyway

I’ve changed the alloys on my last three cars. Like you, I kept the original alloys and put them back on before selling the cars.

I found there’s always a demand for good quality used, well cared for alloys and I had no problems selling any of my three sets for the full asking price (two of the sets were sold on forums). One of the sets sold on the first day I put them up for sale and I could have sold them 3-4 times over.

IMHO the key to a successful sale is ensuring they’re well prepared (cleaning the reverse side of the spokes and the wheel barrels is as important as cleaning the fronts), and the sale ad includes a comprehensive, honest description (include details of any damage, repairs or prior refurbishments) and lots of pictures.

Definite improvement, like the moonstone grey 😎

I really don’t get the Richmond alloys being standard on a GTi, they do nothing for the look of the car, perhaps VW expected everyone ordering would tick the upgrade box!

Thank you! I agree, the Richmonds don't belong on it in my opinion. But I wasn't prepared to tick the box for the upgrade and take it above the £40K. I went for the 18 inch version just in case the 19's had a detrimental effect on the ride and even managed to use the original tyres. So pretty pleased overall.

Very nice and it didn’t take long for CM Wheels to get Queenstowns out!
Do the original VW centre caps fit ok?
Did you keep the 225 tyres?
What is the bare wheel weight of a Queenstown?

Those wheels look great!
Couldn't agree more regarding the Richmond's. My only sort of regret is when I replaced mine for RL wheels, I should have kept the Richmond's to cover winter driving {with appropriate tyres fitted} but as its worked out, not that much of an issue as don't venture out too much when the weather is crap. Sold them which paid for two years extra VW Warranty/Breakdown and Connectivity package. Mine will be 5 years old this Nov but only covered 33K so far. Do I wait for a Mk9 GTI?
