I'll be going 18" this time Exonian so 8.0 wide, with offset either 48 or 44 ( Borbet) or 45 if BBS. Will either fit just fine on mk7.5?
And the price difference is about 70 pounds for a set, Borbet being the cheaper one.

Difficult one in 18” choosing between them. Toss a coin, both look great.
My choice would be Borbet FF1 in 18”

Offset wise I’d go 44/45 personally as they’ll fill the arches better. 48 fine too.

Thanks everyone for help.

I have order Borbet Y 18" ET48 in Titan matt from my local wheel shop which was glad to price match cheapest deal I could find, and 4x GY Vector 4 Seasons gen3 tyres :) Pictures to follow when fitted in about 2 weeks or so.

Just by chance I stumbled upon this video showing both the Borbet FF1's and the Y's fitted to a Golf R estate.

The FF1's look pretty good, but the Y's look awesome

Prior to fitting a set of CM Reifnitz I bought, I too wondered if they were quality assured/ certified.

Considering an earlier post on this thread by Exonian, (Sorry I messed up the quote feature)

“Surprisingly CMWheels reps do have some sort of certification but how rigorous the testing is would be anyone’s guess - if you can fake a wheel design then faking a safety test stamp isn’t exactly going to be a challenge!
Quality doesn’t seem that bad actually.”

I checked the rear of my rims and they seem to have the JWL, Japanese Light Wheel Alloy mark, JWL, used to certify alloy wheels in Japan.  It is shown at the start of the mark in the photo below. Can anyone confirm this? Additionally, what do the letters VIA indicate?

It also has this mark below. Anyone know what it signifies? I think it shows the ET (45). It also shows 19 but these rims are 18” so I don’t know why 19. I do not know what the last symbol indicates. Any ideas?

Re the above. I may have found the answers to the JWL and VIA marks. Here ‘s what they signify.

The 19 on the spoke by the ET stamp isn’t anything to do with rim diameter, that marking along with width is cast onto one of the other spokes.

Incidentally for anyone interested, a 19” CMWheels Reifnitz weighs approx 12.2 kilos according to the bathroom scales I sat one on earlier.

If I can find somewhere open to fit my tyres to the 18” CM Reifnitz I have, they are finally going on this week. If I can I’ll post photos. Have you any idea what the other strange mark like a rune is?
