How do I activate the infotainment clock?
« on: 06 December 2020, 16:53 »
I seen it on several cars when the ignition is off but where in the multitude of menus do I activate the analogue clock to appear on the infotainment screen?

Ignition on and infotainment off shows the analogue clock on mine. I believe that is standard.

It's somewhere in the settings the option to display the clock screen with the radio off but ignition on. I can't remember exactly where, probably in the various time options like BST etc. You get a choice of two or three styles of analogue or a digital display.....

Sadly sold, Octavia VRS245 Estate, Audi A3 1.5TFSI S Line Black Edition, Polo GTi 1.8, Audi TT Roadster, Golf Mk7 GTD etc.
Daughter has 2019 Polo 2.0GTi DSG. We love VAG !

Don’t think you can have the clock displayed with the ignition off. As others have said, it’ll display on the infotainment screen when the ignition’s on and the radio’s off once you’ve activated it in the car settings via the infotainment screen.

My previous car only had one clock style, but in my 2020 Polo GTI+, you can select one of three or four different styles by swiping sideways on the infotainment screen when the clock is being displayed.
2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

So I'm going to answer my own question...

via a US VW site...

1. Push Setup button on lower right of infotainment.
2. Select "Screen".
3. Check "Display time in standby mode".

Haven't tried it yet so hope it's the same for the UK.

I did it on mine, that sounds familiar, but it was a while back.
I got the instructions from a post on here.

note it says standby mode meaning when the mib unit is off. You can't have the clock show when your ignition is off.
