Actually I think they’ve been tweeted in error. Mk7 interior bits just visible. Surely not a mistake by Vw.

Ahhh now I read about the clubby having different seats earlier today, but no pictures to go with the article...

" as well as the full digital dashboard and infotainment system you get in a higher specification Golf; the ArtVelours seats, however, are unique to the Clubsport"

Have to say those look lovely seats - far better than the bog standard ones in the GTI/GTD/GTE.... and R...

Oh hang on, that is a Mk7 - it has the sliding cover over the storage compartment (missing on the Mk8) and the arm rest is missing.... this a Mk7

Unless, and hear me out, it’s another mistake where they’ve leaked the Ed45 seats but the photo is from the ed40.

I think the biggest giveaway that that's a Mk7 is it looks like a 3dr. That rear window...

If they were going to make a 3dr Mk8 then that's probably the sort of thing they'd do to save cash

With VW seeming to be all about saving cash these days and their move away from building three door models, I can’t see a three door mk8 ever being built, as it’d require three door-specific new body pressings, windows, interior panels, seats and probably many other three door specific parts. All of this would involve extra cost, which goes against VW’s current cost cutting, cash saving approach.

I think the only three door car left in VW’s current model line up is the up!, and I’d expect the next generation up! to be a five door only - that’s assuming there’ll be a next generation up! It’s sibling - the Seat Mii is now an electric-only five door and it looks as if the Skoda Citigo is no longer built.

It's an odd pic with the Buckets... It looks like a 3 door car? I have a 3 door Mk 7, CS with buckets and from what I have seen, there is no arm rest OR sliding cover over the cup holders with buckets.
