Foot rest
« on: 26 October 2020, 08:59 »
Hi,

Probably me being stupid but I can’t get the replacement foot rest to sit properly so the screw lines up. I’ve followed Rebecca’s thread but just can’t get it to fit. Seems like it’s sitting slightly too high.

Any advice? (Again!)

Have you opened up the slots on the footrest enough? And are the slots deep enough? When I fitted mine it needed a pretty good thump to sit down at the right level but I hadn't removed enough material from around the lower slot and snapped it. Stayed on fine though but I'd recommend being a bit more careful than me!

Thanks for the reply Watts. The slots seem the same size as the original and I’ve opened them up a bit already. I might do it a bit more. There’s so little room to move when putting it in too.

give the slots a little shave with a stanley blade, then try again, mine needed a slight trim... fitted straight in then

I e done that a few times but the screw still won’t line up. It’s obviously me tbf! I actually doesn’t move at all without the screw so it’s fitted in my mind.

I modified the lugs on mine with a Dremel. It's a good fit now and the screw lines up.
