No heat from driver side air vent
« on: 18 October 2020, 10:58 »
Hi
I've got no hot air coming through the drivers side air vent or footwell on my Mk7 GTI. Can anyone point me towards a guide on checking if the dual climate control is working correctly. Or what part of the dash i need to remove to check if the flaps are opening etc.

Thanks

Simon

Thanks but no that didn't help, well apart from the advice to take out a warranty wait six weeks claim then cancel it :)

Blocked heater matrix

That was my initial thought.

@Simonkitch; there've been a few instances on various VAG forums of owners reporting a blocked heater matrix. If this is what’s happened in your car, a possible cause is the silicate bag in the coolant expansion tank splitting and the contents working it’s way around the cooling system and into the heater matrix. Not all cars have the silicate bag in the expansion tank though.
