Should be a minor shouldn't it?

And they won't check the air con but will of course ask if you'd like to pay for it

Brake fluid used to be scheduled every 2 years. Recently  a brake fluid change is scheduled at the 3rd (annual) service and then every 2 years thereafter.

If you have a service pack, brake fluids and aircon is not included.

Price wise you're talking whatever a minor service is plus £80 for the brake fluid change if done at the same time as a service. You recharge your aircon when you feel efficiency has been taken a dive. If you feel you need it, add £60-80 for a recharge.

From VW’s website - prices for cars over 3 years old, but I dare say the price won’t be much (if any) different for newer cars;

- Minor service; £184
- Brake fluid; £69
- Air con service; £139

Agree with Monkeyhanger on the air con service; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

When my last car went in for it's third service I had the brake fluid changed and having refused the air con service they offered it to me so cheap I couldn't say no. Glad I did too as even though I thought it was working fine, it was much better afterwards.

Thanks all, so not to scary then, but I will also need to factor in it's 1st MOT as well.

Expect them to tell you that your brakes are shot btw.

Seems to almost be a standard thing every time you go near the dealership.

I found out at my local joke shop, sorry, dealership, that the fixed price servicing mentioned earlier are "optional" and each franchise can choose whether to offer them. I pointed out it doesn't say that but shiny suit didn't care, he had coffee to serve.

Definitely. I'm a light broker, I preserve momentum and plan ahead more than the average driver, so I've been used to being told that my brakes are hardly worn.

For my 2015 R though, according to my dealership, the rear discs were 90% worn at the end of year 1 (10k miles), were 90% worn at the end of year 2 (19k miles) and 85% worn at the end of year 3  (27k miles).

I asked the service manager guy at the end of service 3 if I had regenerative brakes because they seem to be healing themselves!

Absolute robbers.

I had my gtd in the dealership about ten days apart and was told 95% the first time and 90% the second. I also said "glad it's getting better then" and they looked blankly at me.
