Not just the mk8 but almost any of the new gen cars from most marques will have the same menu scrolling.
I’d imagine some of the main menu screens can be accessed if you use the bank of hot keys below the climate controls to save them on.
There are shortcuts to certain ‘widgets’ (as BMW calls them) via the main screen, these do seem set up more for LHD though. The main home screen can be left to show three sub screens eg. Map, phone and media or a mixture of different things and these sub screens can be increased to full screen on the move.
I’ll have a play with the hot keys in the daylight and report back.
