Acexxon reflector deletes.
« on: 28 August 2020, 19:48 »
Has anybody fitted these?-i can’t make my mind up on them.
I think they look good, but they’re not OEM parts,so that’s putting me off a bit.
Anyone got any opinions?-sorry,useless at links etc,so if you put Acexxon Reflector Deletes in Google, you can see them on images.

Presumably this would require the rear reflectors to be removed, so the car would then not have any rear reflectors?

I think rear reflectors on a car are a legal requirement in the UK if it was originally fitted with them, so removing them and replacing them with what are effectively blanking plates would mean you risk being stopped by the police. I think your car would probably fail the annual MOT test too. There may also be insurance implications if you remove the rear reflectors.

Sounds like a good way of having some unexpected and undesirable mods to your car if you park it on the road at night....

The OEM reflectors are there for a reason but if the appearance of them is so awful then pop them out, spend £5.99 on a matt black or body colour rattle can and save yourself £90...

I agree with the legal requirement posted above, on the basis that this mod probably comes under the classification of "sick" or "wickid" it is not something I will be doing to my own car! :)

Expect to be stopped by every police traffic car that ever follows you + fail any genuine MOT test. Its a legal requirement.

Simple question is why? - I saw a MK 7 GTD today with smoked headlights - looked horrendous, some modifications are simply crap.

Great replies chaps, they match the honeycomb on the rear valance and that’s what I like about them.
I would not say they are ‘crap’,it’s all about opinions at the end of the day.
I don’t like chrome on cars, but other people love it.
Wouldn’t touch them now I know they’re not legal.

If you're into this kind of thing, have you looked at tints?
