Dab station list.
« on: 16 June 2020, 09:39 »
On my late 2016 mk7 with standard discovery nav system, I don't have access to as many Dab radio stations as on other Dab radios.

I have been into the stations list, used the refresh button of a 3/4 circle with arrow on it, yet some of the major stations don't show up.
I'm inside the M25, so not exactly remote from London based stations.

Is there another way to update the list?

Cheers.

Thanks Fred, if I can receive and lisiten to Dab broadcasting station inside the house, I assumed I would also be able to listen to it on the driveway, or away from home.
I did check on your link and many of the stations are available.
I have been through the seperate infotainment handbook and I seem to have been doing things correctly, I am seeing and waiting for the stations update. which appear to complete with an extensive list.

I was trying to find Talk radio on the Golf, I have Talk Sport and hundreds of mainstream and diverse stations (all good!).

Maybe it's just one station?

In theory if you can see the  multiplex then it should show the channel:

https://ukfree.tv/radio/multiplexes

If it doesn't show the channel within a multiplex, refresh the list on your radio. The channel list within the multiplex doesn't refresh automatically I think... or maybe it only does infrequently.

So once you have London1, you should see:

https://ukfree.tv/radio/multiplexes/12C/London_1

But once its listed in your car, if you drive to Grimsby you will discover that you can't actually listen to "Magic ABBA" because its only on London1 and its not actually being received.

Does that make sense?
