Information button on 7.5
« on: 02 May 2020, 17:32 »
Afternoon one and all, I trust we are all keeping well?

My OH, in the pursuit of exterminating any possible virus coming in to the house, has been getting pretty liberal with the application of spray bleach. Until the inevitable happened a few days ago when she managed to get some in her eyes . So, I had a few hours in total of spare time on my hands between a visit to A&E followed a couple of days later to a specialist eye unit (they won't allow family to wait in the hospitals so you have to go back to the car). All is well with her eyes now thankfully and the spray bleach isn't appearing anywhere near as often.

So whilst sitting in the car there was very little to do and I find radio irritating mostly, I don't have a smart phone and no CDs available. So all that was left was to have a read of the car's manual where I learnt a few things about the headlights and the ACC, neither of which I'm likely to make much use of. But one thing was intriguing due to the ambiguity of the explanation which was the "i" button near the SoS button on the interior lights panel. The book says you can use it to contact VW for information. So I'm guessing it's not a concierge service so what sort of questions are they there to answer? Any ideas?

Maybe Mrs Watts needs something like this to wear around the house whilst dousing bleach with abandon?

I’m glad she has no lasting damage though

I’d briefly noticed that button myself but didn’t really wonder too much what it was, the little green light up there on that console does distract me occasionally whilst driving though.

I'm pretty sure I'd have noticed a couple of rocket motors in the boot at some point! This is going to bother me now everytime I get in the car (which isn't that often at the moment...)

I've never even noticed this button, nor an SOS one. Where is it, you say? Interior lights panel? Overhead?

Where the sensors are for the alarm, just infront of the storage cubby on the interior lights panel.

It’s one of the differences between a 7 and 7.5

Watts looks at his roof console occasionally unlike 90% of Golf owners as he’s a flash git with a sunroof!
