Not had a mail yet, but heard it on the news.

25 each car of my multi-car policy, so £150 for my policy, 6 cars and 4 drivers.

Not gonna complain.

Be interesting what the renewal comes in at in a couple of weeks though.

I would imagine it’s a drop in the ocean compared to bonus’s they are making as a result of reduced claims at this time. Excellent piece of marketing for them though
Be interesting to see if others follow

Hopefully the other insurance companies will be shamed into doing the same. Should've been a percentage of premium rather than a flat fee, but then it would be easier to see what a pittance they're really giving the average customer.

I'm with "quotemehappy" for both of our cars (Aviva by another name?), will give it a week to see if they are looking to do the same, then drastically reduce the mileage on the policies as we get free online alterations (no admin fee).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Something that might be worth doing is if you are not going to a permanent place of work is to change your use to domestic and pleasure only.

That will radically change the premium... combine that with mileage and assuming they don't sting you for doing it, you should be quids in.

I changed the use under my policy to ‘social, domestic and pleasure’ only a few years ago when I retired, so was no longer using my car for commuting to work. It didn’t make much difference to the premium; it certainly wasn’t radically lower.

I use to have one of my policys without commute on it but it made little to no difference.
One of mine was with Admiral until the start of April but its now with Hastings saved me £40 guess thats now only £15

Direct Line don't seem to be too charitable at the moment. My renewal came the other day for my Caravelle, up from £256 to £355!!!

Bye bye Direct line, hello LV at £235.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I'm with Hastings and it's the only company I've been with in my 10 years of driving to actually drop the price without me contacting them. They sent a letter through the post with my new renewal on saying the price was dropping and when I went on comparison websites I couldn't even beat it myself .

I'm not tell anyone to change to Hastings, always shop around for the best deal. But if you find a good company, try and stick with them. If you find your price is too high, go on a comparison site, find the best deal, callt ehm up, and they'll more than likely price match to keep you with them.

An insurance company is only as good as when you need to make a claim. Having had an Admiral policy in the past (bought based on cost alone), when I actually needed help (somebody drove into me) they were a complete nightmare to deal with and I was left significantly out of pocket. I was constantly chasing and navigating Red tape, loopholes and penalties were put on me & my policy based on somebody else's actions. After reading the small print these penalties were Admiral specific and not a general insurance penalties.

Compare that with Aviva, who my ex's car was insured with, and when she made a claim in an accident she caused, the difference was Biblical. Aviva were very hands off, super efficient, and great comms.

I go with Ageas. They are c10% more than the cheaper quotes, but the level of cover is much better and should the worst happen the small print T&C's are on my side.

You get what you pay for.

This is so very true. I never go with the cheapest insurer who’s likely to be a company I’ve never heard of and there’s very little feedback or customer review information on their service.

+1 for Aviva. I’m insured with them currently - they’re not the cheapest, but I have personal experience of their claims service (albeit some years ago), and my brother had excellent claims service from them a couple of years ago. I’d rather pay a bit extra for good service than buy solely on price and get poor service. Aviva’s closest recommended repairer to me is also a
VW approved repairer if I ever need to repairs to my car under an insurance claim.

Aviva have also been willing to reduce my renewal price when I’ve phoned them to tell them I could get cheaper cover elsewhere.
