Admiral have given me money back !
« on: 21 April 2020, 12:44 »
Just had an email from Admiral insurance telling me I’m getting £25 back for each car while I’m not using them. Result !

Not often you get money back from insurance companies ! 😂

If you have insurance with them check your emails.

Yep the Mrs had the same message from admiral.

Very unusual and like already said normally you have to fight get any sort of money back from insurance companies.

Maybe there now should be a list started of said companies who have followed suit.

How do they know which cars you aren't using?

And 25 quid out of how much you pay? If you aren't using it for probably 6 months, is twenty five quid really half your premium?

Sounds more like they are trying to hook you with a payout before you ask for 6 months back...

So cynical Fred. 25 quid back for any Admiral car insurance policy in place on 20/4/20....

because they are saving trillions due to reduced claims so giving back a tiny percent to existing customers is a cracking marketing move.

My email doesn't say anything about not using the car, it's money back from claims they expected but haven't had. For us, the £25 equates to about 12%. Far better than a poke in the eye

It says they are giving back £110 million to customers.
That’s quite a bit for a company to just give away.
Even though there’s less risk of crashing due to not driving the cars as much for the time being, they’d still be expected to pay out around £30k if my cars were stolen or set fire too !
So I’m happy to keep paying.

It's because it's done on their polices as a whole and not an individual basis. Since the majority of the country are mostly staying in their number of claims have probably flown down.
I'm with Hastings and have driven my GTi once in 4 weeks  so far doesn't look like I'm getting anything. Great publicity for Admiral tho.
